Five new couples are getting ‘Married’ for Season 11 on Lifetime
THE Season 11 cast of “Married at First Sight” has been revealed. Ten strangers from New Orleans have been matched by three relationship experts and will meet for the first time when they get married the Lifetime ratings-grabber.
They’ll be followed by cameras for two months as they go on a honeymoon, move in together and combine their lives — before deciding if they will remain married or get a divorce.
Filming for Season 11, premiering July 15 at 8 p.m., began before the pandemic hit and continued as the worldwide lockdown set in — with matchmakers Dr. Viviana Coles, Dr. Pepper Schwartz and pastor Calvin Roberson all returning.
Here’s a look at the five couples taking the plunge.
Amelia and Bennett
Arranged marriages aren’t unique to Amelia: her grandparents’ marriage was also arranged. The 27-year-old from Richmond, Va. is currently completing her medical residency, following in the footsteps of her doctor mother.
Bennett, 28, works as the artistic director of a theater company. Although he’s been looking for love for four years, the Montvale, N.J. native has been through a difficult string of bad relationships.
Karen and Miles
Karen, 30, works as a consultant in New Orleans. Born in Baton
Rouge, she’s struggled with dating and has been single for the last five years. She hopes the show will lead her to her right match.
At 26, Miles is the youngest participant this season. Originally from South Carolina, he’s passionate about education and loves working with children and teens. He currently feels limited by the dating process.
Amani and Woody
Amani, 29, works at a nonprofit and hopes to one day open her own organization dedicated to children. Although she was raised in Chicago, she came to New Orleans to attend college and hopes to find a partner with whom she can start a family and travel.
Woody, 30, was born and raised in the Big Easy, where he works as a teacher and a coach. He has a strong sense of self and is close with his mother.
Christina and Henry
Christina is ready to find love after recently getting out of a long relationship. The 30-yearold flight attendant was raised by a single mother in Houma, La.
Henry, 35, is sick of dating apps and being set up. He hopes “MAFS” will be the change of pace he needs and works as a clinical recruiter.
Olivia and Brett
Olivia, 30, has a Master of Science degree in nursing who returned home to Louisiana after moving to Iowa. She now works at a comprehensive stroke center.
Brett, 35, works in IT. The Louisiana, native is intrigued by the idea of an arranged marriage because of its historical significance.
