Cops can’t catch a break. Amid a terrifying surge in gunplay citywide — including 11 people wounded in less than 12 hours over the weekend — police responded to a report of shots fired in Harlem, only to be met with a barrage of hurled bottles.

Eleven people were shot in less than 12 hours as the weekend’s gun violence continued Saturday night into the wee hours of Sunday, law-enforcement sources told The Post.

The victims were wounded during eight shootings in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens and Manhattan between 5:30 p.m. and about 5 a.m., the sources said.

Most were expected to survive, but a 30-year-old woman who was shot in the head was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, where she was in listed grave condition.

In at least three of the incidents, the victims refused to cooperate with police after being wounded, according to the sources.

The spate of gunfire brought the number of shootings since last Monday to 59, with a total of 81 people shot, including six slain.

There were nine murders but just 26 shootings for the week during the same time period last year, the sources said.

The latest incidents included a drive-by shooting near the Tompkins Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, that wounded a 24-yearold man and a 21-year-old woman at around 3:25 a.m. Sunday.

A dark-colored SUV that pulled up before the shots were fired sped off afterward.

Earlier, a 28-year-old man was shot in the right leg while engaged in a drug deal on East 100th Street near First Avenue in East Harlem at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Cops found two 9mm shell casings and “multiple” pills believed to contain oxycodone at the scene after the shooter opened fire with a black handgun, the sources said.

The most serious incident took place at around 3:40 a.m. Sunday at the Cooper Park Houses in East Williamsburg, where the woman was shot in the head.

A 31-year-man was also hit three times — in the hip, elbow and ankle — and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment, sources said.

The victims said he heard the shots and felt pain, but was unable to describe the assailant.

The citywide gunplay followed a 14-hour stretch during which 19 people were shot in a dozen incidents, including a broad-daylight double-slaying in Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon.

Those killings were blamed on a gunman who wore a wig and a trench coat when he opened fire with an AR-15-style rifle in East New York.
