De Blasio’s Street Battle: A Petty Jab at Trump

-

That Mayor de Blasio is ineffective is no secret. His failed initiatives in mental health, public housing, homelessness, education and more are well-documented (“Don hits back at Blas,” June 26).

Now we’re learning about his juvenile, vindictive side as well. Rather than improve the lives of minorities through job training, violence reduction and more, he will now paint the “Black Lives Matter” slogan in front of the Trump building on Fifth Avenue.

How will that help even one African American? Ridiculous.

De Blasio intends to have Fifth Avenue in front of Trump Tower “decorated” with a huge “Black Lives Matter” painting on the street.

I would like to find out how to have the street in front of Gracie Mansion painted with a huge “Mr. and Mrs. Clueless” sign.

De Blasio is painting “Black Lives Matter” on Fifth Avenue in front of Trump Tower to annoy the president when he comes to New York.

This man has more nerve than brains. In addition to the street the city will deface, the city also plans to change the names of some streets, erasing more history.

Were the taxpaying residents of this city asked for feedback on this idea? New York was the Big Apple, now it’s a pile of trash.

President Trump says he’s furious that BLM will be painted outside of Trump Tower, but he isn’t honest enough to say why he is so upset. We all know why.

As far as the tenants who own apartments in the building, their property values nosedived when Trump became

president. Anyone with any dignity or any class would not live in a building with Trump’s name on it. Kreg Ramone Manhattan

De Blasio’s recent response to Trump, “Only warped minds equate the words Black Lives Matter with violence,” illustrates his malignant ignorance.

Black Lives Matter is an excuse for leftists and anarchists to destroy public and private property, hurt hardworking Americans, including Black people, and basically try to turn the wonderful, albeit imperfect, idea our forefathers had of the United States of America into a lawless society. God help us if the left wins the White House. Ray Travaglione

De Blasio wants to paint “Black Lives Matter” on the street in front of Trump Tower.

Trump created record low black unemployment numbers. This fact, of course, doesn’t count for anything for this pandering, shameless mayor of New York City.
