Dre marriage up in smoke

-

SHE wants to forget about Dre. Dr. Dre’s wife, Nicole Young, filed for divorce on Monday from “the richest man in hip-hop” after 24 years of marriage — setting the stage for a potentially epic big money battle. They married in 1996, after he had already found fame with NWA and released his acclaimed solo album “The Chronic.” Yet they reportedly do not have a prenup — meaning the famed producer’s estimated net worth of $800 million is up for grabs. The former couple have two adult children, but Young — who is handily an attorney — is asking for spousal support. Making things more complicated for Dre, he has publicly credited his wife with his return to form and his gangsta rap roots with the release of his second album “2001.” In 2008, he came out with his Beats by Dre earphones and in 2014 Apple bought the Beats brand for $3 billion — the deal made Dre the “richest man in hip-hop.” Reps for Dre and Young didn’t return Page Six’s request for comment. Dre’s personal life has made headlines for years, and in 2015 he apologized to “the women I’ve hurt” following renewed allegations he’d physically abused women, though he did not admit to any specific allegations. He had been accused of assaulting ex-girlfriend Michel’le, journalist Dee Barnes and former label mate Tairrie B. In 2017, he admitted in his HBO docuseries “The Defiant Ones,” “Any man that puts his hands on a female is a f - - king idiot. He’s out of his f - - king mind, and I was out of my f - - king mind at the time. I f - - ked up. I paid for it. I’m sorry for it, and I apologized for it. I have this dark cloud that follows me, and it’s going to be attached to me forever . . . It’s a major blemish on who I am as a man.”
