Bell thinks Adams wants to stay with Gang Green

Despite his public demands to be traded, Le’Veon Bell believes teammate Jamal Adams wants to remain with the Jets. The pair had a “great talk” on Thursday.

“I think he wants to be [with the Jets]. I just think he wants to get paid,” Bell said on Hot 97 radio on Friday. “I think he’s in the same situation I was three years ago. He’s a young player. He’s been at the top of the game, playing at a high level and feels like, ‘Dang, I just want to get compensated.’”

Adams has two years left on his rookie contract, but has grown frustrated by the lack of progress on a new deal with the Jets. He formally demanded a trade last month, according to ESPN, and has publicly said he’s “trying to” get traded to the Cowboys. He has also taken the demands to Twitter, seemingly stating he won’t play for the team again when he told co-safety Marcus Maye that he will “miss balling with you the most.”

NJ Gov: No quarantine for Gase’s crew, Jints

Giants and Jets players traveling to New Jersey won’t be subject to the state’s new rule, requiring visitors from certain states with large numbers of COVID-19 cases to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said NFL players would qualify under the “carve-out for essential travel,” with team training camps scheduled to begin July 28.

“Without having put this in stone, I’m sure we’d probably want to do one, and more than one, test for the virus when they got here,” Murphy said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “Or ask them to take it as they’re leaving wherever their host state is. That’s the minimum standard. We — along with New York and Connecticut — have asked folks if they’re coming from a hot-spot state to self-quarantine for 14 days and get tested. A 14day quarantine doesn’t work in an NFL schedule. So, at least the testing piece would have to be there, and I think if anyone is symptomatic or they’ve tested positive already, I’d hope they wouldn’t get on the plane.”

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office told NFL Network players do not have to arrive 14 days early for training camp to quarantine but be tested upon arrival and not do anything until their results come back. It’s something New York is working with New Jersey and Connecticut on.
