FEARING FOR HER SURVIVAL

Ghis thinks Jeff was slain – & she’s next

Ghislaine Maxwell believes Jeffrey Epstein was murdered behind bars — and now lives in fear that she’ll suffer the same grim end, a new report says.

“Everyone’s view, including Ghislaine’s, is that Epstein was murdered,” a friend of the accused madam told The Sun.

“She received death threats before she was arrested.”

The 58-year-old British socialite — who is accused of procuring girls for the pedophile financier — was ordered held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.

She has been held at the jail since her arrest at a secluded New Hampshire mansion on July 2.

Epstein, 66, died in an apparent suicide on Aug. 10 after he was found unresponsive in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in lower Manhattan.

Prison guards had failed to keep tabs on Epstein despite a previous suicide attempt.

The city’s chief medical examiner ruled the death a suicide by hanging, but a pathologist hired by Epstein has cast doubt on that conclusion.

Maxwell’s unidentified friend — who, The Sun said, was “in regular contact” with her while she was at her Bradford, NH, hideaway — says Maxwell now fears that she will be killed in the Brooklyn jail.

Citing wardens, The Sun described the lockup as “a hellhole.”

“It’s the same as Guantanamo Bay — lights on, noise and constant interruption of sleep,” another source told the British newspaper.

The friend said that the death threats Maxwell received in hiding had prompted her to hire security guards and led her to believe that she would not live to see trial.

One of Maxwell’s brothers reportedly hired a private security company staffed by former British soldiers to keep her safe before authorities arrested her.

Maxwell cried in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday as Judge Alison Nathan refused to let her out on bail, citing her access to money and flight risk.

Maxwell, who has denied the charges against her, faces up to 35 years in prison if convicted.
