ETC.: Tyson will fight Jones in exhibition

Mike Tyson is coming back to boxing at age 54. The former heavyweigh­t champion will meet four-division champion Roy Jones Jr., 51, in an eight-round exhibition match on Sept. 12 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.

In Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Cristian Pavón’s penalty kick in second-half stoppage time helped the LA Galaxy salvage a 1-1 draw and prevent the Houston Dynamo from advancing to the knockout stage in the MLS is Back tournament. Jones, 37, was sentenced in a Queens court video conference to probation, 1,500 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine for fatally punching 35-year-old Sandor Szabo in August 2018 after Szabo pounded on his car’s window. Jones was convicted of misdemeano­r assault in February.

Richy Werenski made a short birdie putt on the par-5 18th for an 8-under 63 and the first-round lead at the 3M Open in Blaine, Minn., while Dustin Johnson withdrew because of a back injury after a 78.

The NHL’s newest team has a name: the Seattle Kraken. The expansion franchise will debut in the 2021-22 season.
