NFL suspends Brown

The NFL suspended wide receiver Antonio Brown for the first eight regularsea­son games of the 2020 season. Brown, who does not have a contract with any team, was suspended Friday under the league’s personal conduct policy.

Brown, who played one game last season for the Patriots before being released, can be signed by any team and would be eligible to participat­e in all of his club’s preseason activities. Ed Wasielewsk­i,

Brown’s agent, said Brown accepts the decision and will not appeal it.

Rockets win in OT

James Harden scored 49 points and the Houston Rockets outlasted the Dallas Mavericks 153-149 in overtime Friday night.

In regulation, Dallas led by 3 before Harden made the first of two free throws, and Robert Covington tipped in a miss on the second to tie it with 3.3 seconds remaining.

Kristaps Porzingis had 39 points and 16 rebounds for Dallas, and Luka

Doncic had a triple-double with 28 points 13 rebounds and 10 assists.

Bucks topple Celtics

The Bucks received 36 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists from Giannis

Antetokoun­mpo in a 119112 victory over the Boston Celtics in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Milwaukee improved to 54-12 and moved within a win of clinching the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Ionescu injures ankle

Top draft pick Sabrina

Ionescu injured her ankle in the second quarter against Atlanta and did not return to action in the Liberty’s 84-78 loss to the Dream on Friday night in Bradenton, Fla.

According to NBA TV, Ionescu sprained her ankle and underwent X-rays.

She finished with 10 points on 4 of 5 shooting. After the game, Liberty coach Walt Hopkins said Ionescu was still being evaluated.

Todd takes lead at WGC

Brendon Todd shot a 5-under 65 and grabbed a two-stroke lead through 36 holes of the FedEx St. Jude Invitation­al in Memphis, Tenn.
