Social disco-ing in poshet nabe
Cops shut down a weekend rager attended by hundreds at a mansion in New Jersey’s richest ZIP code — but neighbors say wild, Vegas-like blowouts have been a regular occurrence despite the coronavirus pandemic.
Revelers including Brooklyn rapper Casanova flocked to Hemlock Drive in Alpine Saturday for a bash promoters had billed as “The Lavish Experience Pool Party” (documented on Instagram at right).
Cops broke up the festivities around 11 p.m., as people spilled onto the streets without regard for social-distancing requirements.
“Disconcerting in the extreme that we are forced to deal with something that shouldn’t be happening, especially in the time of this pandemic,” Alpine Mayor Paul Tomasko told The Post on Tuesday.
He said police first responded to a loud party at the home on June 5 and reached out to property owner Joseph LaBarbiera — but haven’t been able to put the kibosh on the rowdy bacchanals, which have become regular events.
Officials wouldn’t say if any arrests were made or citations issued.
“It’s an absolute nightmare,” one neighbor said of the parties. “If you go in the back of my house, it’s deafening. It’s like your body is actually shaking from the decibels that’s coming out of that sound system.”
LaBarbiera, a personal-injury lawyer, did not return calls for comment, and one of the party promoters hung up on a reporter Tuesday.
