3 busted in R. Kelly ‘vic threat’

- Rebecca Rosenberg

Three men were arrested for allegedly trying to intimidate and bribe victims in R. Kelly’s sex-trafficking case — including setting a car on fire outside one accuser’s home, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Richard Arline Jr., Donnell Russell and Michael Williams were each charged with trying to harass, intimidate, threaten or corruptly influence victims in the pending Brooklyn federal-court case against the 53-year-old singer, born Robert Sylvester Kelly.

Williams, a longtime friend of Kelly’s, allegedly set fire to a black SUV that had been rented by one victim’s father in Florida in the early hours of June 11, court papers allege.

The car was parked in front of a home in Kissimmee, where the woman was staying with her father and several others. After hearing an explosion, a witness went outside and observed “an individual fleeing from the scene whose arm appeared to be lit on fire ,” according to a complaint.

Williams also allegedly searched on Google, “How do fertilizer bombs work?”

Arline, meanwhile, allegedly offered another accuser in the case $500,000 to influence her trial testimony, according to prosecutors.

An unidentified associate texted the woman, “Rob is trying to get his cousin rich in contact with you because he wants to pay you for silence” before a May 26 phone call in which Arline allegedly offered her $500,000 and said Kelly authorized the amount.

Russell allegedly texted a woman who has sued Kelly, threatening to publish sexually explicit photos of her unless she withdrew the suit.

Kelly is charged with more than a dozen criminal counts including sex-trafficking.
