Angie calls shenanigans

-

ANGELINA Jolie questioned the judge overseeing her divorce from Brad Pitt because she was “concerned something untoward was happening.”

Jolie filed to have private judge John Ouderkirk disqualified from their case after her lawyer Samantha Bley DeJean discovered the judge allegedly had an “ongoing professional and financial relationship” with Pitt’s attorneys Lance Spiegel and Anne Kiley that allegedly was their “little secret.”

Jolie and Pitt are legally divorced, but they still must decide child custody and all financial issues with a private judge. They have six kids, but the eldest, Maddox ,isanadultat19.

A source said, “Angelina isn’t trying to delay . . . In fact, the court papers state that she wants to get this issue with the judge resolved so there are no further delays.”

Private judges cost between $500 and $1,000 an hour and are hired by lawyers and prominent people to oversee divorces out of the public eye.

The new Jolie filing, made in LA Superior Court, alleges there were “ever-increasing business relationships between Judge Ouderkirk and [Pitt’s] counsel . . . that were providing a steady stream of income to Judge Ouderkirk . . . [creating] doubts about a privately compensated judge’s ability to remain impartial.” Ouderkirk has yet to respond to the filing. His office said, “We are not going to comment.”

The papers state that “several [Ouderkirk] cases” involving Pitt’s attorneys “were not disclosed at all” before the divorce case began, and “no one thought to let [Jolie] know. Instead it was a little secret between Judge Ouderkirk and [Pitt’s] counsel . . . The coverup drives home the concern that something untoward is happening.”

Jolie’s attorney said, “All my client is asking for is a fair trial based on facts, with no special favors extended to either side. The only way litigants can trust the process is for everyone involved to ensure that there is transparency and impartiality.” Pitt’s reps and lawyers did not return calls for comment.
