Cuomo’s Shameless Book: A Slap at NY’s COVID Vics

-

So President Trump should have followed Gov. Cuomo’s example and the COVID-19 crisis would be over (“Write is so wrong,” Aug. 19)?

New York may have a positive test rate of around 1 percent, but we also have the secondhighest per-capita death rate, thanks to Cuomo’s order sending COVIDpositive patients to nursing homes, where they infected other residents.

Each state has different demographics, which call for different strategies. We do not have a homogeneous population, like most of Europe.

Let’s face it: Had Cuomo not allowed sick patients to be placed in nursing homes, our per-capita death rate would be much lower, maybe as low as Florida’s. Bill Isler Queens

And everyone thought Trump had a big ego!

Cuomo might think he has all the answers, but when people actually ask the pertinent questions and start looking past his canned responses, he deflects and blames everyone around him for his actions.

Just look what happened with the Moreland Commission. Rich Seibt Ocean Breeze, Fla.

Gov. Cuomo is the only elected official in America to provide a comprehensive review of the origins and analyses of COVID.

If The Post wants to address the vacuum created by Trump’s ongoing incompetence, take a look at Cuomo’s forthcoming book.

I have talked to relatives throughout the nation, all of whom congratulate Cuomo for his work. New York state is blessed to have a governor who has depth and a facility to do what the president should have done on Day 1. Kevin Raymond Woodbridge,Va.

Superhero Cuomo is able to beat back the coronavirus and writes a book about what a wonderful job he has done. Although 30,000 dead New Yorkers’ families might not agree.

With all that was needed to be done during the pandemic, such as finding respirators, hospital beds, personal protective equipment, etc., I wonder where he found the time to start writing a book. Tom Vespo Bethpage

The incredible hubris of New York’s governor is flat-out astounding. It is a terribly sad commentary that the citizens of your state have to put up with him.

Really, how can anyone be so narcissistic as to congratulate himself with this book while thousands of New Yorkers have died due to his untethered political ambition?

Cuomo has been elected and re-elected due to his last name, his ex-wife’s connections and the fact that the Democratic Party cannot or will not put up a strong competitor to take him on. Hopefully New Yorkers will wake up.

I would like to be able to visit the state once again, where I used to both do business and vacation. As a senior citizen, I am not optimistic that will happen again in my remaining lifetime. James Crew Chevy Chase, Md.

Isn’t it just like that denying, egotistical, pompous dictator to write a book about how he single-handedly slayed the “European virus.” He can’t even call it what it is — the “China virus.”

Every penny from his book sales should go to the families of the nursing-home victims. Maybe that would be a way to atone for his sins and set him straight with the souls of the people he sent to their deaths. Tony Fasano Staten Island

Cuomo, who previously said he had no political agenda, spoke at the Democratic National Convention. Now he’s writing about how his heroic tactics saved the state. Truthfully, I’d feel safer with former Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Cuomo should write a sequel on how he killed seniors in nursing homes and how keeping restaurants from offering indoor dining and keeping the state’s casinos closed keep thousands out of work.

Meanwhile, Mayor de Blasio should write a book on how to paint streets and turn the city into the Wild West.

Soon we won’t need ventilators; we’ll need bulletproof vests. Lee Pakulsky Oakland Gardens
