Dems’ COVID Hypocrisy: Flouting Their Own Rules THE ISSUE:

The Post story on Democratic politicians violating COVID guidelines they themselves ordered.

-

The multitude of selfrighteous Democratic politicians acting as totalitarian despots in issuing draconian COVID restrictions on the American people is despicable in light of their hypocrisy (“Do as I say, not as I do,” Dec. 4).

They impose their punitive edicts concerning the virus upon the masses. However, they exempt themselves. They frequent exclusive restaurants, travel for pleasure and make excursions to their hairstylists to haughtily ingratiate themselves.

Meanwhile, Americans continue to be tormented by the devastating ramifications of these unjust curtailments.

These morally devoid, narcissistic politicians should be repudiated by voters collectively ousting them from their political positions in future elections. Denis David

Thank you to The Post for exposing again the behavior of our so-called “leaders.”

All of them, including our own Gov. Cuomo, should be ashamed of themselves for dictating to us about our behavior during the pandemic, then flouting their own rules.

But they are shameless. And now they can’t even find a way to blame President Trump, which is their usual modus operandi when they’re embarrassed. They’re pathetic — all of them. Saul Mishaan

Will The Post also run a story about Republican leaders who have not advocated for any publichealth measures and have not followed them in their lives?

Of course, I’m not talking about hypocritical leaders but rather incompetent leaders.

Why do we consider hypocrisy worse than incompetence? Please do a follow-up story about the South Dakota governor and how many have died under her actions. Or maybe Texas Gov. Greg Abbott could be featured. Incompetence is OK? Hypocrisy is worse?

These are people who live by their words, even if their words and actions are based on incompetence. Is it coincidence that the hypocrisy is among Democrats while the incompetence is among Republicans?

Look at the governor of California dining out and celebrating, the mayor of San Francisco dining out, the governor of Colorado dining out and the mayor of Texas vacationing. It is indeed “Do as I say, not as I do.” Does this not resonate with those who voted Democratic? I don’t understand it.

All of these people in power violate the rules you are all ordered and expected to follow. It’s not just the blatant hypocrisy. They are producing distrust of the government. They cause the protests because people say: “If you can do it, why can’t I? Why can’t I keep my business open?”

It’s called leadership. The only thing common to all of them is they’re all liberal Democrats. Are protesters and liberal Democrats immune from getting the virus? Mindy Rader

Being a hypocrite is part of the left’s DNA. They force poor black parents to send their children to failed public schools while theirs attend elite, private facilities. They scream, “Defund the police,” while they live in gated communities and hide behind security details. They go on and on about sexual harassment only when it involves someone who disagrees with them.

These people are amoral, vile and evil. That most people fail to notice this is frightening. Jake McNicholas

The hypocrisy of the politicians calling the shots across the country in regard to pandemic rules and how they flaunt those edicts they impose is nothing new.

Flying in a private jet to some five-star resort to discuss global warming is one thing, but flouting emergency rules that are truly destroying people’s lives is totally different.

The “rules for thee but not for me” crowd is now being exposed on a wide scale, and people are catching on to the dishonesty of these “elites.” Peter Kelly
