Ride the Broncos with points vs. Cats

- By DAVE TULEY

Dave Tuley, senior reporter at VSiN.com, is in his third season with the Post’s Bettor’s Guide. His handicapping pieces appear in VSiN’s online magazine, Point Spread Weekly.

Broncos (+3.5) over PANTHERS: The Broncos came through for us last week, covering as 13-point underdogs in their 22-16 loss to the Chiefs. They’ve been competitive all year (when they’ve had a quarterback, and Drew Lock should have success against the Carolina pass defense). They’re 7-5 against the spread despite their 4-8 straight-up record. Actually, the Panthers have the same SU and ATS records, so I don’t see why they’re favored by more than a field goal. In fact, during this season in which home field is negligible because of no or few fans in the stands, I have this as much closer to pick ’em, so give me the points.

Jets (+14) over SEAHAWKS: The Jets can’t find the winner’s circle, but they keep getting in the money (they’ve covered three of their past four games and four of their past five), and we all know they played well enough that they should have beaten the Raiders this past Sunday. Meanwhile, the Seahawks lost outright to the Giants as 10-point favorites and have failed to cover four of their past five, as their No. 31-ranked defense tends to let teams stick around. In addition, NFL double-digit underdogs are now 11-7-1 ATS (61.1 percent) on the season, so parity still exists.

LAST WEEK: 1-1, Broncos (W), Bengals (L).

SEASON: 12-13-1.
