Who’s got next?

- —Brian Costello

Here are some potential replacements for Adam Gase as the Jets begin their search for a new head coach:

ERIC BIENIEMY, Chiefs offensive coordinator He is going to be at the top of many teams’ lists after overseeing the explosive Kansas City offense. He interviewed with the Jets before they hired Gase in 2019. The question with Bieniemy is how much credit does he get for the Chiefs offense and how much is because of Andy Reid.

MATT CAMPBELL, Iowa State head coach The Jets wanted to talk to Campbell before hiring Gase, but he did not want to interview. He is considered one of the top candidates from college and the Jets may ask to talk to him again.

BRIAN DABOLL, Bills offensive coordinator Credited with the development of Josh Allen, Daboll has worked for Alabama coach Nick Saban and Patriots coach Bill Bellichick. The Bills offense has been explosive this season. Matt Eberflus, Colts defensive coordinator The Jets may lean toward offense, but if they look at defensive coordinators Eberflus leads one of the best defenses in football.

LESLIE FRAZIER, Bills defensive coordinator

If the Jets want a coach with previous headcoaching experience, Frazier could be their guy. The former Vikings head coach has overseen one of the best defenses in the NFL in Buffalo. DON MARTINDALE, Ravens defensive coordinator Joe Douglas’ roots in Baltimore run deep, and it would not be surprising if he leans on mentor Ozzie Newsome for advice. Newsome may recommend Martindale.

LINCOLN RILEY, Oklahoma head coach Riley has been the top candidate from the college ranks for several years but has remained with the Sooners. The Jets should explore whether he is ready to leave.

ROBERT SALEH, 49ers defensive coordinator Saleh took over the league’s worst defense in 2016 and turned them into a top-10 defense over the last two years.

ARTHUR SMITH, Titans offensive coordinator He has turned Tennessee into one of the best offenses in football with Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill. The 38-year-old is going to be a hot name during this hiring season.
