Paris: I survived ‘hell’ at Utah prep

- Lee Brown, Wires

Paris Hilton broke down in tears as she testified to a panel of Utah politicians about being chronically abused at a boarding school there.

“My name is Paris Hilton. I’m an institutional-abuse survivor,” the socialite told a state Senate committee hearing at the Capitol in Salt Lake City on Monday.

Hilton, 39, wiped away tears as she testified about her alleged abuse at age 17 at Provo Canyon School, which she dubbed “hell itself on earth.”

“I was verbally, mentally, and physically abused on a daily basis,” Hilton said of a time when she was “no longer Paris,” but just a number.

“I was cut off from the outside world and stripped of all of my human rights,” she said, accusing the staff of being “evil and sadistic.”

“I cried myself to sleep every single night praying I would wake up from this nightmare.”

Hilton — who has discussed the abuse in a documentary, “This is Paris” — said her 11 months at the socalled compassionate behavioral center caused ongoing trauma.

She said she was “forced to consume medication that made me feel numb and exhausted,” and claimed that a longtime staffer — who was employed until the documentary debuted last year — would brag to new students that “she was the one that broke Paris Hilton.”

The school is now under new ownership.

Hilton’s testimony was to back a state bill to require more government oversight of youth treatment centers.

The measure passed unanimously.

A Colorado animal-rights attorney allegedly attempted to hire a hit man to kill her estranged husband’s girlfriend, who had been their children’s au pair.

Jennifer Emmi, 43, of Evergreen, was arrested in late January on charges including solicitation of murder, stalking and retaliating against a witness or victim, the Denver Post reported.

During a divorce battle,

Emmi, who founded the Animal Law Center, asked a ranch hand, Timothy Lindsey, 28, to help kill the girlfriend, court documents allege. In recorded calls, Emmi allegedly asked Lindsey if he knew anyone who could “get rid” of the woman.

Emmi’s attorney told the Denver Post that police evidence suggests she did not plan to go through with the plot.
