Rose Ioia, 96, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on Saturday, February 6th, 2021 peacefully in her sleep at her long-time home on 16th Avenue. Rose was born on May 20th, 1924 in Manhattan, New York to Charles and Anna (Ferrara) Carollo. In her early 20’s she fell in love with Joseph Ioia, a World War II Purple Heart recipient, who she then married on September 18th, 1949. After marriage, Rose and Joseph began their lives together in Brooklyn, New York, where they settled to raise their family.

Rose always put her trust and faith in the almighty father in Heaven. She was a lifelong Catholic that believed in the power of prayer and forgivenes­s.

Well into her 90’s, Rose loved getting her hair and nails done, then heading out to one of her favorite local restaurant­s. Those close to her know that nothing brought her more joy than when one of her grandkids would show up at her house with a fresh square pie and spumoni from L&B. Rose left an indelible mark on her family. To say she will be missed is an understate­ment.

She was predecease­d by her parents, Charles and Anna (Ferrara) Carollo, her beloved husband, Joseph Ioia, her brother, Bill and two sisters, Marie and Jean. Rose is survived by her loving children, Joseph Ioia and his wife, Gayle, of Colts Neck, New Jersey, and Carol Marra and her husband, John, of Brooklyn, New York, her dear brother, John Carollo and his wife, Marie, her cherished grandchild­ren, Christophe­r Nunziato, Nicole Intersimon­e, Joseph Ioia, Michael Ioia, Ashley Pascocello, Raquel Ioia, Paige Ioia, and Taylor Pascocello, and her adored great grandchild­ren, Annabella, Olivia, Cassie, Mia, Maximus, Salvatore, and Angelo.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday morning, February 10, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/ Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday morning, February 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel, New Jersey 07733.
