Carmelo’s son set to suit up for Queens HS

Carmelo Anthony is no longer playing basketball in New York City, but his son will be suiting up for high school in the five boroughs.

The former Knicks star and current Trail Blazers forward tweeted a video Friday night in which his son, Kiyan Anthony, announced he will be attending Christ the King High School in Middle Village, Queens, next fall.

“Never thought this day would come so soon!” Carmelo Anthony wrote along with the video. ”Next chapter. Proud of you.”

Kiyan’s mother, La La Anthony, also posted the video to Instagram and wrote how proud she was of her son and looking forward to what’s coming next. She and Carmelo were both born in Brooklyn.

“I’m so proud of you!! @christthek­ingny we are excited to be apart of your legacy!!” La La wrote. “Keep working, stay humble, and continue to thank God in everything you do. “I’ll forever be your #1 fan.”

Kiyan Anthony is ranked in the Top 100 in class by Coast 2 Coast Preps and will be joining one of the most storied programs in New York City. Christ the King has won four New York State Federation championsh­ips, and six of the past 10 CHSAA city titles. The school also has produced numerous NBA players.

“Happy to have Kiyan as part of the CK family,” Christ the King coach Joe Arbitello said. “Humble young men with strong family values is what we look for.”

Carmelo Anthony, 36, played seven seasons with the Knicks from 2011-17. He is currently averaging 13 points and 3.5 rebound for Portland.
