Cuomo’s Crumbling Image: ‘Take Your Emmy and Go’

THE ISSUE:

The three women who have come forward accusing Gov. Cuomo of sexual harassment.

The dominoes are falling, and Gov. Cuomo’s “I was joking” excuse is a lame, last-ditch response (“Hey, I’m a funny guy,” March 1).

No matter your profession, these days nearly everyone sits through an annual sexualharassment training. His response doesn’t cut it.

It seems our governor has never had this training. He may have been too busy focusing on bail reform (a failure), overseeing an incompetent parole board that rewards violent offenders with freedom and requiring COVID-positive patients to be admitted to nursing homes (allegedly) covering up the death toll.

He needs to take his Emmy and leave. The show is over.

What confounds me is the loud and persistent outrage from Democrats and liberal media now, calling for Cuomo to resign since the harassed women have surfaced.

My aunt was one of the thousands of people who died because of the worst directive ever given by a public official, and only the families and The Post had the courage to call out Cuomo.

With all due respect to the women, who should be heard, I only wish more of the Democrats and the media had a sliver of conscience over those souls who cannot rest in peace until justice is served.

Let’s be clear about one thing: I can’t stand Cuomo, and I’m disgusted by his politics.

I agree that sexual harwere assment never has a defense, and that it has existed for too long in the American workplace, but people have pushed the notion of “believe all accusers” at the expense of due process, and frankly, they are 100 percent wrong.

Nobody has a right to crucify a man simply on the basis of someone’s word. Liberals are guilty of trying cases such as this one in the court of public opinion, long before they ever see the lights of a real courtroom, where they belong.

Before he’s hanged by his toenails on harassment charges, let’s allow the facts to lead us to our conclusions, please. Joseph DeRubeis

Three strikes and you’re out. A third accuser came forward to accuse Cuomo of inappropriate sexual behavior, including touching, kissing and invitations to play strip poker.

The third accuser, Anna Ruch, sums up her reaction to her face being cradled and being offered an unwanted kiss by saying: “Gross!” Accuser Charlotte Bennett said it all makes her sick.

The governor claims the women’s reactions “misinterpretations.” Is that what Cuomo would tell his three daughters? Cuomo needs a good kick in the butt on the way out the door.

So where are Alyssa Milano and all the other Hollywood leftists screaming for the investigation and impeachment of Cuomo? The hypocrisy is nauseating.

Justice Brett Kavanaugh was lynched at the first accusation, with Cuomo leading the mob. Two women who worked for him have accused the governor of sexual abuse, and the governor is squirming because they are similar stories and recent enough.

His jig might be up.

The sexual allegations against Cuomo are egregious and disgusting but also still just allegations.

Lucky for all of us, we have a judicial system that states “innocent until proven guilty.”

The allegations should be fully investigated but are totally distracting from the real crime — the nursing-home debacle.

Cuomo’s “apology” was nothing more than blaming the victim.

At this point, he can no longer effectively govern and should resign. The longer he hangs on, the more damage he does.

For once in his life, he should put his giant ego aside and do what’s right. He has no other choice.
