Ova – and above!

A British woman has delivered two babies on the same day — after they were conceived three weeks apart.

Rebecca Roberts, 39, was already pregnant with her son, Noah, when she conceived her daughter, Rosalie, The Independent reported.

“We feel really lucky. It’s so lucky to have twins anyway but to have such special twins, it’s so lovely, it’s wonderful, they are a blessing,” Roberts told the outlet.

Roberts said that she and her husband, Rhys, had gone to a fertility clinic in Bath, England, to get a drug to help with ovulation.

“On my first cycle on that drug, we became pregnant,” she told CBS News.

It wasn’t until the 12-week scan for her first baby that she found out she was expecting another.

“I had just been having a conversation with the sonographer about my previous scan so she was aware that I was only having one baby, so she was so silent. I thought something awful had happened because she didn’t say anything,” she told The Independent.

“Then she looked at me and said, “Did you know you’re expecting twins?’ My heart skipped a beat. I actually said to her, ‘Is his real?’ ”

Roberts had become pregnant with the twins through a phenomenon known as superfetation.

It occurs when an egg is released from an ovary after a woman is already pregnant and implants itself alongside the first embryo.

Superfetation — which produces what are known as “super twins” — is so rare, there are only a few documented cases in the world.

Although her babies had different due dates, Roberts gave birth to both on on Sept. 17, 2020.

“They couldn’t be born separately as there’s a massive risk of infection,” Roberts said.

“It was strange, as Rosalie’s due date was three weeks after Noah’s.”

But she said that she’s grateful for the experience, which taught her that “anything’s possible.”

“This wasn’t supposed to happen, but it has. The female body is amazing,” she told CBS News.

?? ?? ‘SUPER’ SPECIAL: Rhys and Rebecca Roberts knew they were having one baby — and were stunned when a scan showed two after another egg implanted itself next to the embryo. That makes Noah and Rosalie “supertwins.”
