Remembering the Fallen: 13 Heroes Lost in Kabul
It was so sad to see Sgt. Nicole Gee on the front page of The Post, holding and protecting an Afghan baby (“Guardian Angel,” Aug. 29).
Would any of the service members have been killed if President Biden and his commanders had done the right thing in withdrawing from the Afghan conflict?
First, they should have withdrawn in early spring or in the fall, when the Taliban were hunkered down.
Second, they should have evacuated all American personnel and Afghan patriots who helped us before setting a date of withdrawal.
And we should have gotten all our equipment out before withdrawal. Now the Taliban owns it, and some day we may see it used against us.
The bottom line to all of these errors of judgment falls squarely on Biden and his commanders. They should all resign. Richard Ketay

Rylee McCollum’s mom was correct when she placed blame for her son’s needless and senseless death on Biden and the people who voted for him (“Heroes,” Aug. 28).
I would go further and blame First Lady Jill Biden, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Chuck Schumer and the rest of the Democrats for propping up a man who many Americans saw had neither the character nor cognitive facility to lead this great nation, much less be its commander-in-chief.
The result has become tragically clear for the families of the soldiers killed and for the rest of the country.
The real tragedy is none of this had to happen. Nevertheless, the death of these young people is inexcusable, and Joe Biden must be held accountable even if it means his removal from office, along with other members of his team that created this mess. Michael D’Auria

Sgt. Gee was more than a guardian angel — she was a nice and caring person who loved her job. I know this because my wife’s uncle knew her.
She’s in a better place now, but I grieve for her family, who got that knock on their door.
I’m sure Nicole and the other 12 service members got a free pass into heaven for their selfless service. Kevin Rosinger

Biden’s strategy, or lack thereof, in conducting an orderly withdrawal from Afghanistan has created a colossal disaster that will go down in history as one of the most inept and costly decisions ever made by a commanderin-chief.
The gross incompetence of this man led to the tragic loss of 13 US service members and should have led to a dec
laration to the Taliban that all bets were off, and we would be in country for as long as it took to extract our people and every piece of military equipment that belongs to us.
His capitulation to this terrorist group is not only humiliating to our country, but he has made the entire world a more dangerous place by emboldening and arming terrorists with the most sophisticated military equipment on the planet.

My heart aches for each of the families that lost a loved one in the attack at Kabul.
Many thanks to The Post for putting Sgt. Gee on Sunday’s cover. She is a standout and should be on the cover of every magazine.
She is the real deal. God bless all our men and women in uniform, and God bless the United States of America.

Our country is on its knees before a ragtag militia, and our president and leaders in the Pentagon and State Department are using a socalled drone strike on the bombing “planner” as a diversion from the loss of life of our heroic soldiers in the botched withdrawal of Afghanistan.
It’s time for Congress to put politics aside and do its job by calling for the resignations of those complicit in planning the surrender of the United States, which stranded thousands of American citizens and allies.
