B’klyn slay amid citywide shoot spree
One man was killed and another hurt in a shooting in Brooklyn early Tuesday — as at least four others were shot in separate incidents across the Big Apple overnight, cops said.
A 27-year-old man was blasted in the groin, arm and chest, and a 21year-old man struck in the elbow and leg, on Putnam Avenue near Howard Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 12:30 a.m., police said.
The older man was rushed to the Kings County Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The younger man was taken to Interfaith Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The gunfire broke out during a dispute between several men, according to police sources. Investigators found .22 caliber and .380 shell casings scattered around the scene, the sources said.
Less than an hour later, a 32-yearold man was shot in the stomach on Bruckner Boulevard near Morrison Avenue in the Soundview section of The Bronx, authorities said.
He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
On Monday night, two teens, 15 and 18, were hurt in a shooting that erupted during a squabble at Barnes Avenue and East 213th Street in the Olinville neighborhood around 8:50 p.m., cops said.
The younger victim was struck in the left leg and the older teen in the right knee, cops said.
Both also went to Jacobi and are expected to survive.
Earlier in the evening, a 41-yearold woman was grazed by a bullet as she stood on Eldridge Street near Stanton Street, on the grounds of NYCHA’s Lower East Side Houses, around 6 p.m., cops said.
She told police she was on her phone when she heard four gunshots and felt pain in her left thigh. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
