Carrie’s confidant on ‘SATC’ dies at 57

Willie Garson, the actor who played the beloved character Stanford Blatch on “Sex and the City” and its forthcomin­g revival with real-life best friend Sarah Jessica Parker, has died. He was 57.

“Willie Garson was in life, as on-screen, a devoted friend and a bright light for everyone in his universe,” an HBO Max spokespers­on told The Post. “He created one of the most beloved characters from the HBO pantheon and was a member of our family for nearly 25 years. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing and extend our sincere condolence­s to his family and loved ones.”

The Highland Park, NJ, native died of cancer, TMZ reported, and family confirmed his death on social media.

Son, Nathen, adopted in 2009, wrote a heartbreak­ing Instagram tribute to his dad.

“I love you so much papa,” Nathen said. “I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much. I’m so proud of you. I will always love you, but I think it’s time for you to go on an adventure of your own . . . You always were the toughest and funniest and smartest person I’ve known. I’m glad you shared your love with me. I’ll never forget it or lose it.”

Garson, who played a gay man on “SATC” but was straight in real life, first met SJP after they were set up on a blind date more than a decade before their show became an HBO sensation.

“We were set up once, had a very long flirtation, and then just settled into being best friends, something I think really reads on the show,” Garson once told Out Magazine.
