NFL: Meyer goes on apology tour

After his viral photo controvers­y — when footage and photos surfaced of him dancing closely with a woman who’s not his wife — Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer apologized to the team in a meeting early Wednesday morning, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Meyer expressed remorse and asked the team for forgivenes­s. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that Meyer also told his players that he “acted like an a-hole idiot.” The Jaguars coach also mentioned his wife of 37 years, Shelley Meyer, during the apology.

Former Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith is close to signing with the Packers and the deal will be finalized Thursday, according to an NFL Network report.
