Weird BUT true

A Washington state resident was busted for shoplifting “thousands of dollars worth” of women’s purses while dressed in a pink bunny costume.

The unidentified suspect, online observers noted, looked much like Ralphie from the classic holiday flick “A Christmas Story,” forced to wear the same embarrassing pink bunny ensemble.

Thirty-one Ikea customers and employees in Denmark enjoyed a festive, if unexpected, sleepover when a snowstorm blocked roads.

The stranded crew slept in display beds, watched Christmas specials on TV and drank hot chocolate and beer.

“All fun,” the store manager said.

A man became famous around Calgary, Canada, when desperation forced him to advertise his need for a kidney on billboards.

The story has a happy ending: Dave Mathews got his new kidney in November, after two years of delays and false hopes.

Nancy Langlois reached out to donate the organ after seeing the billboard that read simply, “Dave needs a kidney. Donor Blood Type O.”

A Christmas-loving upstate family has displayed its name in bright lights in the Guinness World Records again.

The Gay family of Lagrangeville decked out their home with 687,000 lights this holiday season, easily besting their 2014 record of 602,000.

The display serves as a fundraiser for local charities. The family hopes to raise $500,000 this year.

A Connecticut man was busted for kidnapping at the Canadian border when he failed to provide proof of a COVID-19 test.

Christopher Constanzo, 19, is accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 16-yearold girl before trying to sneak over the border with her.

Canadian customs agents refused to let him through, then discovered the teen in the back seat of the car restrained with shoelaces.
