Weird BUT true

A dopey coincidence. But, yes, the Noho landlord suing a tenant for allegedly running a commercial party space in a residential unit and filling it with too much pot smoke is . . . Bong LLC.

Its lawsuit, alleging that tenant New York Pocket LLC runs weekly weed-filled parties, has sparked online comments like, “To be fair, their name is literally Bong (aka water pipe, commonly used to smoke MJ).”

Maybe the wrong kind of experience.

A convicted arsonist, Jerame Simmons, who set a high school ablaze 20 years ago, became the new acting fire chief in East Carondelet, Ill., this week.

In response, 10 of 13 Prairie Du Pont Volunteer firemen quit on the spot.

Canadian police had no trouble finding the guy who smuggled seven migrants across their border — the suspect turned out to be the owner of a Washington state bed-and-breakfast called the Smuggler’s Inn.

The innkeeper, whose hotel overlooks an unfenced part of the US-Canada border, was sentenced last week to jail time served and probation.

The Canadian court also made him put signs outside his establishment reminding people that smuggling is, in fact, illegal.

This is nuts. Squirrels ruined an annual Christmas-light show in St. Paul, Minn., last year by chewing through the lights’ wires coated with a form of corn sugar that the critters found delicious.

Organizers, determined not to let this happen again, will this year project a virtual display of the light show, an organizer said.

Bambi nearly got booked. A deer was captured by North Carolina police after it broke into the Transylvania County Courthouse and caused chaos.

Cops, able to apprehend the animal without injury, said they released the deer on “her own recognizance with a stern warning.”
