Crowder may sit vs. Jags

- By BRIAN COSTELLO

The Jets could be down another wide receiver on Sunday.

Jamison Crowder did not practice on Wednesday and was listed with a calf injury. Interim coach Ron Middleton would not say whether Crowder’s status for Sunday’s game is in doubt.

It would be another blow to quarterback Zach Wilson and the Jets offense. It is already without starting wide receivers Corey Davis, who is out for the remainder of the season, and Elijah Moore, who remains on IR with a quad injury.

Wilson would have none of his starting wide receivers. It most likely would be Keelan Cole, Denzel Mims and Braxton Berrios starting in the game.

➤ LB C.J. Mosley opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. The NFL gave players the option to optout of the rest of this season earlier this week, but Mosley said he did not consider it this time around because he is vaccinated.

Mosley did not practice on Wednesday and was listed with a back injury. The Jets have been giving Mosley rest days in recent weeks, but usually on Thursday. Mosley said he’s not worried about his availability for Sunday.

“At this point of the season, you’re just trying to do everything you can to make sure you get to Sunday. That’s been the case,” Mosley said. “Usually my rest day is on Thursday. As long as I get to Sunday, that’s what is most important.”

➤ LT George Fant returned to practice on Wednesday, but was limited. He missed last week’s game against the Dolphins with a knee injury. Fant said the knee feels better. …S Elijah Riley (concussion), DT Sheldon Rankins (knee) and CB Bryce Hall (non-COVID illness) did not practice. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (ankle) and Quinnen Williams (shoulder) were limited.
