Bust in Brooklyn Jew-bash attack

Police have arrested a suspect in the attack on a Jewish man who was slugged for wearing an Israel Defense Forces sweatshirt in Brooklyn, cops said.

Suleiman Othman, 27, of Staten Island, was nabbed at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday in connection with the Dec. 26 assault on Blake Zavadsky, 21, outside the Foot Locker store on 86th Street near Fifth Avenue.

Othman — who was picked up by the NYPD’s Warrant Squad after getting a lead on the alleged attacker from the department’s facial-recognition unit — was charged with assault as a hate crime and aggravated harassment, police and sources said.

Zavadsky was with his friend Ilan Kaganovich, also 21, when two men approached, Zavadsky told The Post a day after the incident.

“They asked us what we were doing in their neighborhood,” Zavadsky said. “They called us ‘dirty Jews.’ ”

He said they took particular issue with his hoodie that featured the emblem of the Israeli military forces.

“The one who punched me said if I don’t take my sweatshirt off, he’s going to rock me,” Zavadsky said.

“How can you support these dirty Jews?” Zavadsky quoted him as saying.

When Zavadsky didn’t take off the hoodie, the assailant punched him twice in the face and doused him with iced coffee, he said.

He was treated for a laceration, bruising and facial swelling.

Othman has seven prior arrests, for menacing, assault, robbery and endangering the welfare of a child dating back to 2010, cops and sources said. He was last picked up in July 2020 on a menacing charge, sources said. Cops had no reports of a second suspect.
