NFL: Chargers family feud heats up

Chargers controllin­g owner Dean Spanos has been accused of repeated breaches of fiduciary duty and misogynist­ic behavior in a lawsuit filed by his sister, Dea Spanos Berberian.

The filing escalates the ongoing battle among the four Spanos siblings — including Spanos, Berberian, Michael Spanos and Alexandra Spanos Ruhl — over control of the franchise.

Don Perkins, a six-time Pro Bowl running back with the Cowboys in the 1960s, has died. He was 84. No cause of death was revealed.

MLB: Orioles bros. beefing over team

Orioles CEO John Angelos was accused in a lawsuit this week of seizing control of the team at the expense of his brother Lou Angelos — and in defiance of their father Peter Angelos’ wishes. The father, who will turn 93 next month, became the Orioles’ owner in 1993, but his public role has diminished in recent years.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday in Baltimore County Circuit Court, Lou Angelos said John has tried to take control of their father’s estate while excluding Lou.

In Atlanta, Dansby Swanson had three hits, including a two-run homer, and the Braves stretched their winning streak to nine games with a 4-2 win over the Pirates. It’s the longest winning streak in the National League this season.

In Philadelph­ia, Rhys Hoskins hit a pair of solo home runs to lead the Phillies to their eighth straight win, 7-5 over Arizona.

In Washington, Josh Bell and Keibert Ruiz homered on consecutiv­e pitches in the sixth inning as the Nationals sent the Brewers to their season-high seventh straight loss, 11-5. ETC.: Libs’ cure for Fever is Howard

Natasha Howard had 25 points and 10 rebounds, Stefanie Dolson scored all nine of her points in a pivotal third quarter and the Liberty rolled to a 97-83 victory over the Indiana Fever in Indianapol­is. Sabrina Ionescu added 13 points, seven assists and six rebounds, while reserve Marine Johannes scored 11 with six assists for the Liberty (5-8).

In Austin, Texas, Jesus Ferreira tied the United States’ internatio­nal record with four goals in a 5-0 victory over Grenada in a World Cup sendoff, a CONCACAF Nations League match 164 days before the Americans’ opener in Qatar. His four goals matched Landon Donovan (2003), Joe-Max Moore (1993), Buff Donelli (1934) and Archie Stark (1925).

In Toronto, Wyndham Clark closed with an unlikely par save to take a one-stroke lead over defending champion Rory McIlroy and four other players into the weekend in the RBC Canadian Open.

In Galloway Township, N.J., Stephanie Kyriacou, in search of her first career LPGA Tour win, fired a 6-under-par 67 at Seaview Hotel and Golf Club to grab a one-shot lead at the ShopRite LPGA Classic.
