GETTING DOLLED UP

- By BROOKE KATO

IT’S a Barbie world, and we’re just living in it. Photos from the set of director Greta Gerwig’s buzzy “Barbie” flick are driving fans wild — with 31year-old star Margot Robbie spied in a parade of hot pink outfits, including a neon spandex leotard and fetching fuchsia Western wear.

“I just wanna say that seeing these paparazzi photos of the filming of ‘Barbie’ make me wanna see this movie so freakin’ bad,” TikToker Kirbie Johnson gushed in a clip with over 327,000 views.

Hotly anticipated flick

The hashtag #BarbieCore — dedicated to showcasing Barbie-inspired fashion — has more than 7 million views on TikTok. And according to Google Trends data, the spike in interest for Barbie has never been higher in anticipation of the live-action movie, set to be released in July 2023.

It stars Robbie as the iconic Mattel doll and Ryan Gosling as Ken. Both were photographed on set in Venice Beach, Calif., earlier this week Rollerblading in coordinated neon outfits.

Gerwig, known for the Oscar-nominated film “Lady Bird,” is said to be putting a fresh spin on the age-old plastic classic that debuted on store shelves in 1959.

“I wish I could just show you what we do day to day because it’s crazy,” actor Simu Liu told GQ UK, describing the set as “wild” and “incredibly unique.”

Celebs play dress-up

The Marvel “Shang-Chi” star said he signed on to the project — co-written by Gerwig and her partner Noah Baumbach — after his agent called the “Barbie” script one of the best he’s ever read.

“He literally said this verbatim,” Liu said. “He was like, ‘If I could stake my career on any one script, it’s the ‘Barbie’ script. I really think you should do it.’ ”

While Gerwig may be expanding Barbie outside the doll box, Robbie’s outfits by Oscar-winning “Little Women” costume designer Jacqueline Durran have entered the fashion zeitgeist.

On Monday, Megan Fox rocked her own rendition of the fuchsia fashion trend — making an IRL Barbie and Ken moment with fiancé Machine Gun Kelly.

No strangers to being on top of trends, Khloe Kardashian channeled Barbie in pink latex for her birthday on Tuesday while sister Kim, now a bleach blonde, shared a snap on Instagram earlier in June, complete with pink tights, a matching cropped hoodie and, of course, a Balenciaga bag.

“I would say it’s definitely, like, future alien Barbie vibes,” Kim recently said of her style.

Hailey Bieber had her own bombshell Barbie moment, too, wearing a bubblegum pink Versace corseted minidress from the fall-winter 2022 collection in a sexy Instagram snap on Wednesday.

And Lizzo donned a magenta Valentino frock with matching gloves and tights, along with a sleek, doll-like high ponytail, at a film screening in early June.

‘Pink is rampant’

Fellas are getting in on the trend, too: Besides Machine Gun Kelly, Sebastian Stan rocked a Valentino number in the playful shade at the Met Gala in May.

High fashion is also heralding the hue, with Valentino designer Pierpaolo Piccioli debuting a hot pink collection in partnership with Pantone for the fallwinter 2022 season.

“Pink is rampant everywhere,” the Italian house told Forbes, calling it “a liberation from the need for realism.”

Meanwhile, fashion stylist Shea Daspin, who recently styled actress Zoe Margaret Colletti in head-to-toe pink, told InStyle that Barbie “represents a lot more” than the color pink.

“She represents ambition and female agency,” Daspin said, “and that can manifest in how someone dresses, or who they decide they want to become.”
