● The Red Bulls could not get on the scoreboard for the second consecutiv­e week as they drew 0-0 with Nashville in the home opener at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. New York (0-1-1, 1 point) had eight shots but five either missed the net or got blocked.

NBA: Bucks’ win streak over

Joel Embiid had 31 points and made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 41.4 seconds left as the 76ers rallied from an 18-point deficit to beat Milwaukee 133-130 in Milwaukee, snapping the Bucks’ 16-game winning streak. Giannis Antetokoun­mpo had 34 points and 13 rebounds for the Bucks.

● In Miami, Bam Adebayo scored 30 points and the Heat held Trae Young toa season-low eight points in a 117-109 victory over the Hawks.

MLB: Guerrero out of WBC

Toronto slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. withdrew Saturday from playing for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic due to inflammati­on in his right knee.

Toronto manager John Schneider said that an MRI exam showed no structural damage in Guerrero’s right knee a day after he left the Blue Jays’ spring training game Friday with discomfort in the knee

NHL: Stars dominate Avalanche

Mason Marchment and Joe Pavelski ended career-long goal droughts of 32 and 18 games, respective­ly, as the Stars beat the Avalanche, 7-3, in Dallas. Jason Robertson had two goals and an assist for the Stars, who lead the Central Division and are 4-0-1 in their past five games.

● In Sunrise, Fla., Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 saves, and the Panthers stopped Pittsburgh’s four-game win streak with a 4-1 victory against the Penguins.

● In Buffalo, rookie Jack Quinn scored during a three-goal second period and the Sabres beat the slumping Lightning, 5-3.

NFL: Patriots releasing Hoyer

The Patriots informed veteran quarterbac­k Brian Hoyer he will be released before the start of free agency on March 15, ESPN reported. Hoyer, 37, made one start for the Patriots last season and has appeared in 76 games (40 starts) over 14 seasons with seven NFL franchises.

GOLF: Rookie Echavarria takes lead

PGA Tour rookie Nico Echavarria of Colombia ran off four straight birdies early in his round and finished with a 7-under 65 for a two-shot lead in the Puerto Rico Open as he goes for his first PGA Tour victory.

● In Singapore, defending champion Jin Young Ko of South Korea carded a 7-under 65 to surge into the lead at the HSBC Women’s World Championsh­ip.

ETC.: Jones win title at UFC 285

Jon Jones, the former light heavyweigh­t champion returned from a three-year hiatus to claim the vacant UFC heavyweigh­t title at UFC 285, tapping out Ciryl Gane via guillotine choke in the first round on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Alexa Grasso stunned champion Valentina Shevchenko, submitting her with a rear-naked choke in the fourth round to claim the title in a UFC 285 undercard bout.

● Defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano won the pole for the Pennzoil 400, to be run Sunday in Las Vegas. Logano, who won the October race at Las Vegas, qualified at 186.053 mph the Team Penske No. 22 Ford.
