Trump’s Possible Arrest: Justice or a Witch Hunt?

- West Islip

Apparently in District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s New York, recidivists with multiple violentcrime convictions are released to prey on innocent New Yorkers, while a low-level felony that may well be beyond the statute of limitations is worthy of vigorous and relentless prosecution (“Don rages at ‘Stormy’ weather,” March 19).

Take off the Trumphate goggles for a minute and consider these facts: Bragg does not care if you or your loved ones are murdered, maimed, robbed or otherwise victimized by repeat offenders. We know this because he has the power to put them behind bars but does not.

However, rest assured that he will keep you safe from the danger posed by former President Donald Trump’s personal dealings with Stormy Daniels. Seriously, people?

The Democrats are in panic mode ever since Tucker Carlson exposed the Jan. 6 Committee as a farce. It’s no coincidence that Trump’s pending indictment comes on the heels of Carlson’s expose.

This is nothing more than a witch hunt by desperate politicians who are hell-bent on destroying a threat to their power. Chris Tripoulas

Once again, Trump is calling on his minions to stage protests over his possible arrest on Tuesday. Has he learned nothing from his Jan. 6 call to protest?

While he was president, I was all about Trump, but his defeat has caused him to become delusional and his behavior has become too erratic.

He is hoping to show that he is being persecuted and not prosecuted, which will aid in his fundraising. Your time has passed, Donald. Bo Madden Jupiter, Fla.

Isn’t our city in enough turmoil with innocent kids being shot, criminals walking free on the streets and shoplifting so out of control that neighborhoods are losing stores they need? Why in the world would Alvin Bragg pursue these baseless charges against a former president?

New York does not need this. This just another sordid scheme to get Trump.

Many of us are sick of these political figures who use our city to carry out their left-wing dramas. While our city suffers from loss of life and fear, these lowdown players manipulate and dominate the media to cover up their own wrongdoing.

New York has big problems, and none of our pain has anything to do with the former president. Catherine Adago

Whether Trump will face a felony or misdemeanor charge for falsifying business records and/or covering up illegal campaign contributions and whether those charges result from a federal or state indictment is irrelevant.

What is important is that he be indicted. Otherwise “equal justice under law,” the words engraved on the architrave of the Supreme Court, are meaningless.

Miranda Devine hit the nail on the head (“Don sideshow a gift to Bidens,” March 20)

It’s the oldest trick in the world: Take the “spotlight” off the current administration’s corruption by putting the spotlight onto Trump’s past. Hopefully then people will then ignore the corruption.

“Masters of illusion” would be a better term for our current administration. Perhaps if Team Biden spent less time on working the Three-card Monte switch and more time on real events that need attention, our country would have a chance to be great again. Donna Skjeveland

So is it left-wing bias anytime a Republican does something wrong and needs to be held accountable?

Trump is being investigated because of the life that he leads, where he jumps from one grift to another.

No one is above the law, and accountability will go a long way to healing this nation’s problem with polarizing politicians who are only looking out for their own careers. Bill Romaka
