NHL: Kings top Oilers in overtime
Trevor Moore scored a power-play goal at 3:24 of overtime to give the host Kings a 3-2 victory over the Oilers in Game 3 of their Western Conference first-round playoff series. Connor McDavid scored two goals for the Oilers.

MLB: Smyly falls short on perfect game
Drew Smyly lost his bid for a perfect game when he collided with catcher Yan Gomes while trying to field David Peralta’s eighth-inning dribbler that went for an infield single in the Cubs’ 13-0 victory over the Dodgers in Chicago. Smyly struck out 10 and walked none in 7 2/₃ innings.
In St. Petersburg, Fla., Christian Bethancourt hit a leadoff homer in the ninth and Brandon Lowe followed with a walkoff two-run shot off Reynaldo Lopez to lead the Rays over the White Sox 8-7.
In Atlanta, Yordan Alvarez hit a tiebreaking, two-run home run with two outs in the ninth inning, and the Astros rallied from a three-run deficit to beat the Braves 6-4 in a matchup of the last two World Series champions.
In Baltimore, Ryan Mountcastle hustled home from third in the bottom of the ninth inning, scoring on Adam Frazier’s grounder to give the Orioles their fourth straight victory, 2-1 over the Tigers.
In Anaheim, Shohei Ohtani struck out a season-high 11 and allowed two hits over seven dominant innings, and fill-in catcher Chad Wallach hit a two-run homer in the Angels’ 2-0 victory over the Royals.
NBA: Wembanyama enters draft
Projected No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama officially declared for the NBA draft. The 7-foot-5 Wembanyama, who played in the top French pro league, is the most anticipated draft-eligible prospect since LeBron James in 2003.
GOLF: Gooch takes 1st round lead
Talor Gooch upstaged the more-fancied names on the LIV Golf tour by shooting a 10-under 62 to take a four-stroke lead after the first round of the inaugural Australian tournament at The Grange in Adelaide. Two more players in the unfancied category — Richard Bland and Dean Burmester — shot 66s and were tied for second.
In Avondale, La., Wyndham Clark and Beau Hossler shot a 5-under 67 in alternateshot play to maintain a one-shot lead through the second round of the Zurich Classic.
