MLB: Astros spoil Freeman feat

Alex Bregman drove in the game-winning run in the 11th inning and the Astros beat the Dodgers, 6-5, on Sunday in Los Angeles despite squanderin­g a three-run lead on a night the Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman collected his 2,000th hit. Freeman became the 295th player in major league history to record 2,000 hits.

In Cincinnati, Matt Olson hit a goahead three-run homer in the sixth inning and the Braves held on for another wild 7-6 victory over the Reds. The Reds had runners on first and third in the ninth when Raisel Iglesias got Kevin Newman to roll into a game-ending double play. It was Iglesias’ 11th save.

In Toronto, George Springer moved into second place on baseball’s career list with his 55th leadoff home run, Yusei Kikuchi pitched a season-high seven innings and the Blue Jays beat the Athletics, 12-1.

In Miami, rookie Eury Perez scattered four hits and struck out nine in six dominant innings, extending his scoreless string to 21 innings, to lead the Marlins to a 2-0 win over the Pirates.

In Baltimore, Anthony Santander robbed Julio Rodriguez with a super catch in right field in the first, then homered two innings later to help the Orioles to a 3-2 victory over the Mariners.

In St. Petersburg, Fla., Jose Siri homered, Wander Franco had a sacrifice fly in a two-run seventh, and the MLB-leading Rays beat Kansas City, 3-1.

In Chicago, Luis Robert Jr. had two home runs among his three hits to lead the White Sox to a 4-1 win over the Red Sox.

In San Diego, left-hander MacKenzie Gore pitched five strong innings against his former team, Jeimer Candelario homered and drove in three runs and the Nationals took advantage of San Diego’s bullpen meltdown to beat the staggering Padres, 8-3, and take two of three.

In London, Paul Goldschmid­t hit a goahead RBI single that chased Chicago starter Marcus Stroman in the fourth inning and the Cardinals beat the Cubs, 7-5, to earn a split of their series at London Stadium.

WNBA: Griner an All-Star starter

Padraig Harrington played his final seven holes in 7-under par, a stunning finish for a 9-under 63 to successful­ly defend his title in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open with a one-shot victory on Sunday in Endicott, N.Y.

In Munich, Thriston Lawrence closed with a 3-under 69 to overtake a faltering Joost Luiten and win the BMW Internatio­nal Open by one stroke for his fourth European tour title.
