Madonna sick in bed 'vomiting'

SHE’D ‘LIKE A PRAYER’

Madonna was still too sick to get out of bed Thursday following a brief stay in the intensive care unit at a local hospital due to a bacterial infection.

The Queen of Pop, 64, has been “vomiting uncontrollably” at her Manhattan apartment since being sent home by doctors after she collapsed Saturday, insiders told TMZ.

The infection is still wreaking havoc on her body and sources said the Material Girl had been battling a lengthy, low-grade fever for a full month before she was found unresponsive and hospitalized.

The iconic singer reportedly ignored her symptoms and refused to see a doctor because she was laser-focused on getting ready for her upcoming 84-date Celebration Tour, which has since been postponed.

A source claimed to TMZ that Madonna’s doctors believe the unreported fever was a sign of the “serious bacterial infection.” The infection worsened when it was left untreated — and the veteran performer kept pushing herself to the limit.

‘We may lose her’

Page Six exclusively reported that the “Vogue” singer had been “strenuously rehearsing” and “putting in 12-hour days” at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum for several weeks before her body gave in.

After spending several days in the ICU as well as a normal hospital room, the songstress was discharged to her home, where a police escort was spotted standing guard Thursday.

The Grammy winner’s manager, Guy Oseary, told fans that Madge’s “health is improving” and “a full recovery is expected.” But insiders insisted that the infection is more serious than he claims.

Loved ones and fellow performers close to Madonna told TMZ they worry she will not take the recommended amount of time to rest and recover before getting back to the grind.

Relatives also shared their concerns with The Daily Mail, claiming they were initially unsure the pop-music icon would recover from the health scare.

“For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,” the unidentified family member said. “Everyone believed that we may lose her and that has been the reality of the situation.”

Other friends, however, publicly promised fans that Madonna is headed toward a swift recovery.

“Get well Sis! Rest, Restore, Reboot! Strongest gal I know,” longtime friend Debi Mazar said on Instagram. “To all of her fans-Madonna is on the mend & home resting!”

Madonna’s “A League of Their Own” co-star Rosie O’Donnell also chimed that “shes feeling good.”

Comedian Kathy Griffin defended Madonna against online trolls who were making “ageist” jokes about her health.

“Sorry, but as a 62-year-old chick I deal with it all the time, and she’s freaking Madonna!” Griffin said on TikTok. “I care about her health, and I’m glad she can go back on this tour.”
