SEALed with a kiss
Busted Osama ‘killer’ marks his wed anniv.
Days after being charged with assault and public intoxication, the former Navy SEAL who claims he killed Osama bin Laden was in joyful spirits, celebrating his sixth wedding anniversary with his wife, Jessica.
Robert O’Neill was arrested Wednesday in Frisco, Texas, and slapped with a Class A misdemeanor charge of assault causing bodily injury and a Class C misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.
O’Neill, 47, has taken credit for firing the shots that killed 9/11 mastermind bin Laden during the 2011 SEALs raid on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
He told his story, which the military has never confirmed or denied, in his 2017 memoirs, “The Operator.”
Following his Texas troubles, which occurred after he recorded a podcast at a cigar lounge, O’Neill took to Instagram on Saturday to pen a shortbut-sweet post for his wife.
“Happy Anniversary @jessicalynneoneill Thank you for putting up with me! I love you,” the former SEAL Team 6 member wrote. His post included four shots of him and his wife, including one on their wedding day and three on the beach, attracting comments from hundreds of well-wishers.
Details of the arrest have not been disclosed, but records show he was booked into jail in Collin County.
O’Neill was released the same day on a $3,500 bond.
He did not respond to a request for comment from The Post. Frisco police have not released additional information about the arrest and did not return messages from The Post.
Wednesday’s arrest was not O’Neill’s first brush with authorities. In 2020, he was banned by Delta Airlines for refusing to comply with COVID-19 protocols and wear a mask
In 2016, he was charged with driving drunk in Montana, but the charges later were dropped, CBS News reported.
O’Neill is one of the backers of Armed Forces Brewing Co., a Virginia microbrewer that was born amid the controversy surrounding Bud Light’s sponsorship of LGBTQ influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
