Rep.’s Far-Fetched Excuse For Pulling a Fire Alarm
THE ISSUE: Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s claim that he pulled a fire alarm because he thought it opened a door.
As a retired firefighter, I find the actions of Rep. Jamaal Bowman to be very dangerous, reprehensible and unlawful (“Does this look like a door handle?” Oct. 2).
But since he’s a politician, I certainly don’t expect that he will be charged with this crime.
People could have easily been injured after this elected official pulled the fire alarm, leading to what should have been, and was, an evacuation.
And no, I do not buy this guy’s excuse that he thought it would open a door.
The big word “fire” should have been this former high-school principal’s first clue.

People, these are the morons you have voted into Congress. Every first grader knows what a fire alarm looks like and to not to pull it.
What an idiot this guy is. Enjoy his tenure, New York. You deserve it

If it weren’t so serious, it would’ve been laughable that Rep. Jamaal Bowman couldn’t even understand the significance of a sign that in bold print read “fire.” He claims he thought the alarm would open the closed door. Huh?
However, his timing was perfect, because the alarm sounded, and the disruption allowed the Democrats to stall for more time in the crucial 11th-hour House negotiations to avoid a government shutdown, which was averted.
I hope that this is not a reflection of the educational system where reading, interpreting, critical thinking and commonsense are no longer the bedrock of education. It looks like his district is not being wellserved.
The children and the country are in trouble.

There are two congressmen who should be forced out of their seats — One is Bowman and the other is Rep. Matt Gaetz.
Bowman should not only should be forced out of Congress; he should be charged with the same crime as the Jan. 6 defendants who trashed the Capitol building.
How stupid can you be when you can’t tell the difference between a door handle and the fire alarm?
Gaetz should be removed for his antics in trying to force a government shutdown, which would harm many people and the US economy. This is more than enough to force him out — if he isn’t at least censured by the House Ethics Committee.

Do you really think anything will happen to Bowman, our congressman from The Bronx and Yonkers?
Now if it were Rep. Elise Stefanik or Nicole Malliotakis who pulled a fire alarm in a blatant attempt to delay a congressional vote, the Democrats and their media cohorts would hyperventilate, calling for their immediate removal from Congress.
This is just one more example of Democrats’ hypocrisy and duplicity.
Bowman’s fellow Democrats will circle the wagons and try to convince us to believe what they say and not what we see for ourselves — an attempt to disrupt a political process by whatever means necessary just because they didn’t like what was happening.

Bowman brought “middle-school energy” to Congress.
Remember in high school, when the kids didn’t want to take a test, they would pull the fire alarm? Well, so did Bowman.
Maybe it was an error. Maybe he was nervous and concerned about our government’s shutdown. Maybe he was out the day when they went over fire safety in his class. Maybe he needs a new eyeglasses prescription.
I guess he should have his day in court, since “no one in this country is above the law.”

So Bowman claims that he triggered the fire alarm only to open the door.
His Democratic colleagues will accept this at face value. There are only two possibilities: He is either guilty of a crime, or he is a full-fledged imbecile holding a PhD.
