NFL: Dobbs remains Vikings starter

Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said Wednesday quarterbac­k Joshua Dobbs will remain the starter this week for Sunday’s game at Las Vegas, after he threw four intercepti­ons — three of them off a variety of deflection­s — during a damaging 12-10 defeat at home to Chicago on Nov. 27.

• Trevor Lawrence has ditched the crutches and the walking boot and the Jaguars’ quarterbac­k told reporters that he feels “a lot better” than he thought he would two days after sustaining a high ankle sprain against Cincinnati. Lawrence did not practice Wednesday.

NBA: Spurs lose 15th game in a row

Rudy Gobert had 16 points and 21 rebounds and the Timberwolv­es held on to beat San Antonio 102-94 in Minneapoli­s for their fifth straight victory and the Spurs’ 15th loss in a row.

• In Los Angeles, Paul George scored 25 points and the Clippers won 111-102 over the Nuggets and snap an eight-game skid against the defending NBA champion Denver.

• In Cleveland, Donovan Mitchell scored 35 points and the Cavaliers won 121-111 over the Magic, who got a career-high 42 points from Paolo Banchero.

• In Washington, Joel Embiid scored a season-high 50 points and had 13 rebounds to help the 76ers beat the Wizards 131-126.

NHL: Panthers hold off Stars

Evan Rodrigues tied a career-best with four points, Aleksander Barkov scored a goal off a crazy rebound to break a third-period tie and the Panthers beat the Stars 5-4 in Sunrise, Fla.

• In Tampa, Fla., Andrei Vasilevski­y stopped 23 shots, NHL points leader Nikita Kucherov had a goal and an assist, and the Lightning beat the Penguins 3-1.

NCAA: Clark scores 3,000th career point

Caitlin Clark scored 35 points and pushed her career point total to 3,013, making her the 15th NCAA Division I women’s player to surpass the 3,000-point plateau as Iowa won 67-58 over Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.

• In Milwaukee, Tyler Kolek had 28 points, eight rebounds and six assists as No. 8 Marquette drubbed No. 12 Texas 86-65 in a Big East-Big 12 Battle matchup.

• In Winston Salem, N.C., Kevin Miller scored 23 points and the Demon Deacons beat Rutgers 76-57. Aundre Hyatt and Noah Fernandes each scored 13 points for Rutgers (5-3),

• In The Bronx, Mekhi Gray led NJIT with 21 points and Kjell de Graaf secured the victory with a layup with two seconds left as the Highlander­s knocked off Fordham 80-77

• In New Rochelle, Darlinston­e Dubar scored 12 points as Hofstra beat Iona 62-57.
