NHL: Hurricanes top Devils in OT

Sebastian Aho scored 3:40 into overtime to give the Hurricanes a 1-0 win over the Devils in Raleigh, N.C., on Saturday night. Aho knocked a rebound of a Martin Necas shot out of midair past New Jersey goalie Vitek Vanecek for the only goal of the game. The Devils have lost seven of 10.

In Sunrise, Fla., Sergei Bobrovsky made 35 saves in his third shutout of the season, and the Panthers beat the Avalanche, 4-0, in Sunrise, Fla. The Panthers, won for the sixth time in seven games.

In Nashville, Tenn., former Ranger Ryan McDonagh scored at 1:36 of overtime and the Predators rallied to beat the Coyotes 5-4.

In Detroit, Jake Walman scored on a penalty shot 23 seconds into overtime and the Red Wings rallied from a two-goal, third-period deficit to beat the Canucks, 4-3.

In Montreal, Tyler Seguin scored twice, Matt Duchene had two assists and the Stars beat the Canadiens, 3-2. Dallas improved to 8-2-1 in its last 11 games.

In Boston, T.J. Oshie scored his 299th career goal, Charlie Lindgren stopped 18 shots for his third shutout of the season and the Capitals snapped a six-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over the Bruins.

In Buffalo, Jake Neighours scored twice and the Blues returned from their bye week off with a 3-1 win over the Sabres. The Blues won their sixth of seven outings.

NBA: Dinwiddie joins Lakers Former Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie plans to sign with his hometown Lakers, a person with knowledge of the details told The Associated Press on Saturday. The point guard was traded by the Nets to Toronto on Thursday and then was waived. He will become a free agent and is eligible to sign a new contract once he clears waivers.

In San Francisco, Stephen Curry made a 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds left and the Warriors beat the Suns 113-112 for their sixth victory in seven games. With 3.3 seconds Curry caught the inbounds pass from Brandin Podziemski, turned and hit a 33-footer for his ninth 3-pointer of the night. He had 30 points.

In Dallas, Luka Doncic scored 32 points, Kyrie Irving added 25 and the Mavericks matched their longest winning streak of the season at four games in a 146111 rout of the Thunder.

In Orlando, Franz Wagner scored 36 points, Cole Anthony had 14 points and the Magic turned back the Bulls 114-108 in overtime

Veteran guard Kyle Lowry agreed to a contract buyout with the Hornets and will sign with the 76ers once he clears waivers in the next few days according to an ESPN report. Lowry will join his hometown team on a $2.8 million deal.

GOLF: Party closes at Phoenix Open

The Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale stopped allowing fans onto the premises around 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon because it was too crowded. It also stopped alcohol sales at most locations around the course, hoping to slow down the party.

It’s the first time the Phoenix Open has had to — at least briefly — turn away ticket holders. The larger than usual crowds came to Scottsdale despite lessthan-ideal weather conditions.

Nick Taylor had a one-shot lead at 13 under with 12 holes left in his third round when play was suspended because of darkness at the waterlogge­d tournament. Sahith Theegala made a birdie on No. 4 to pull within a stroke.

Dustin Johnson won LIV Golf Las Vegas on Saturday in windy and chilly conditions for his third victory on the Saudifunde­d tour, pulling ahead with a birdie on No. 17 and closing with a par to edge Peter Uihlein and Talor Gooch by a stroke.
