Dublin carnival continues tradition
Dublin Fire Company President Elmer Kriebel doesn’t know the exact odds of winnLnJ WKH rDIflH DW WKH YROunWHHr organization’s annual fundraising carnival, but one thing’s almost certain.
“I guess it’s a little better than the lottery,” Kriebel said.
Around 5,000 raffle tickets are sold most years, he said. This year’s top prize is a 2012 Ford Fiesta or the option of taking $10,000 in cash instead. The second and third prizes are a gas grill and an Echo gas string trimmer.

The main reason for the carnival is as a fundraiser, Dale 0HyHrV, firH FRPSDny EDWWDOLRn chief, said.
Over the years, though, the carnival has become something else, he said.
“It’s a tradition,” Meyers said.
“It’s actually a social gathering is what it is,” Kriebel said.
That’s in addition to the rides, games, food and entertainment.
“It’s been going on for more than 90 years, long before I was born,” said KriebHO, D 65-yHDr firH FRmSDny member.
