Fatal accident

David Alan Shelley, 52, of Jamison, died the evening of Aug. 19 as a result of injuries received in an accident the previous day, Hilltown Township Police Department said.

The accident happened about 8:25 a.m. Aug. 18 when a 16-year-old driver on Limekiln Pike (Route 152) north of Township Line Road became distracted by a check engine light and drove off the road, police said. The driver was able to pull the 2006 Honda Odyssey back onto the road, but after hitting the center line rumble strips, veered back off the road and hit a tree with the right side of the vehicle, police said.

Shelley, a passenger in the VHKLFOH, ZDV flRZQ EY 3HQQStar Medical Helicopter to Temple rniversity Hospital, police said.

The driver was not injured, police said.

The crash is still under investigat­ion, but no charg- HV DUH HXSHFWHG WR EH fiOHG against the driver, police said.

New Britain Township police, Hilltown Fire Company, Chalfont Fire Company and Chal-Brit Regional Ambulance assisted at the scene, police said. UQGHU WKH LQflUHQFH RI D FRQtrolled substance after Flannery was seen with inoperable tail lights on Bethlehem Pike and stopped on Orvilla Road about 1:54 a.m. July 8, Hilltown Township Police Department said.

Blood-alcohol content testing showed a .185 percent level, police said.
