Quinn expressed appreciation for her family, for her “campaign family” and for those working the polling stations. At two of the stations, Quinn said she crossed paths with Frederick. They shook hands, and Quinn said she even gave him a hug.

As the results came in Tuesday night, Quinn said she was happy with the results.

Quinn received messages thanking her for the work she had done and several congratulations Wednesday.

She said she hadn’t given thought as to how she’ll celebrate her win.

“I’ll feel better when everyone in my district has power,” she said, referencing the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Quinn said she did not have any thoughts on whether she would run again for re-election in two years.

Frederick said he was not upset with the result because it was a good experience and he was able to meet many great people.

“I did all I could do — I talked to as many people as I could,” Frederick said.

He said he spent Tuesday visiting about 30 polling stations, which were “very busy,” to say hello to the voters. Some voters, he said, thanked him and said that they wouldn’t have voted for him if he hadn’t knocked on their door.

Voters were thanking Frederick Tuesday, but he was thanking his wife and campaign manager, 1DQFy 7DflLQ, WhH QH[W day.

“My wife probably did more work than I did,” he said. “She was the brains of the operation. She deserves credit.”

Frederick said he saw Quinn several times Tuesday at the voting stations; they shook hands and were “very civil,” according to Frederick.

“There’s no animosity on my part,” he said.

Frederick said it was a good race and that he wasn’t taking the result too seriously.

“I would have loved to go out to Harrisburg to do the job, but I’m not crying about it,” he said. “It’s just politics.”
