“How those flower-shaped discs are made is part of this lamp’s appeal. Dirk carried out two years of research, trying different synthetic materials that had been extruded by a bespoke robotic arm. The robotic mechanism builds up the material layer by layer to create the lights, which are lit internally with LEDS to create a warm glow. Inspired by Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, the lamp emulates the sunflower’s movements; each module rotates, making it easy to adjust the light.” €3,585 ($4,011)
