Havana—last year, U.S. President Barack Obama came to the Cuban capital “to bury the last remnant of the Cold War.” On June 16, his successor, Donald Trump, stirred up the decades-old conflict. In a speech in Miami’s Little Havana, the president announced he was “completely” nullifying Obama’s landmark deal with the Castro government. In reality, Trump’s move merely restored some restrictio­ns on Americans traveling to or doing business on the island. In Havana, however, many felt the two countries were moving in the wrong direction.
