WALKS WITH WYNNIE: Dr. Kenneth Hawkinson, president, Kutztown University, will hold several Walks with Wynnie during the fall semester, at 5:30p.m. Walks dates: Sept. 26, Oct. 3, 10, 17. Walks begin and end at the President’s Residence on Kutztown Road. Opportunity for Hawkinson, his wife Ann Marie Hayes-Hawkinson and their dog Wynnie to interact with the KU community on a faceto-face basis. The 45-minute walks begin at the president’s patio and will conclude at the president’s residence for refreshments. Welcome to bring dogs. Pet waste bags provided.

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary

Autumn Hawk Watch: Daily through Dec. 15 at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton, at North Lookout, weather permitting. An average 18000 birds of prey will soar over the Kittatinny Ridge, and each year Hawk Mountain staff, volunteers, and trainees help tally the number and type of birds that pass. An official counter and interpreters are on hand to point out and identify raptors. Visitors should bring binoculars (or rent them at the Visitor Center), something soft to sit on, and a daypack with water and snacks. 33rd Annual Lyons Fiddle Festival: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lyons Fiddle Festival, 15 Park Ave., Lyons. Grassroots music, homemade soups and baked goods, artisan crafts, chance to win a handcrafted quilt or a solid mahogany Martin Guitar. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 25. Admission is a $5 donation.
