Warning wins Patriot title in shot put

LUCAS WARNING (KUTZTOWN) >> The Lehigh senior captured the first league shot put title of his career on the final day of the Patriot League Indoor Track Championsh­ips Feb. 19 in Boston. His toss of 59 feet, 3½ inches is the longest ever in the league’s indoor championsh­ip. Warning has competed in the shot put in nine events this winter and has seven firsts and two seconds. He was named Patriot Field Athlete of the Week on Feb. 14 after he re-set his own record by capturing the title at the Bucknell Tune-up on Feb. 10 with a toss of 59 feet, 10½ inches.

GILLIAN ‘G’ RYAN (KUTZTOWN) >> The Michigan junior captured the 500 freestyle and 1650 freestyle at the Big Ten Swim Championsh­ip Feb. 1518 in West Lafayette, Ind. Her 500 time (4:34.40) was a meet record and her 1650 time (15:44.93) was a pool record. She also swam a leg on the winning 800 free relay that posted a Big Ten record time of 6:55.34. All three times earn Ryan an automatic bid into the NCAA Division I Championsh­ips March 15-18 in Indianapol­is, Ind. She also finished fifth in the

200 freestyle in a B cut time of 1:45.12.

DEANNA DADDONA (BRANDYWINE HEIGHTS) >> The 5-foot-5 sophomore guard was named to the North Eastern Athletic Conference third team for her play with the 6-16 Penn State-Berks women’s basketball team. Daddona led the team in scoring (22.1) and steals (52) and was second in assists (63). She also averaged 4.4 rebounds a game. She scored in double figures in every game and had 14 games with 20 or more points. She scored a season-high 34 points in two games. She scored 37 points against Wilson as a freshman.

KASSIDY LESHER (HAMBURG) >> The 6-foot-1 junior forward was named Centennial Conference Co-Player of the Week (Feb. 13) after a solid performanc­e with the Dickinson women’s basketball team. She had two double-doubles with 16 points and 12 rebounds in a 58-51 victory over Gettysburg on Feb. 7 and 14 points and 12 rebounds in a 71-63 overtime victory over Ursinus on Feb. 11. Lesher is averaging 9.0 points and leads the

Devils with 11.9 rebounds a game and 32 blocked shots heading into the league playoffs.

BRE MANZOLILLO (SCHUYLKILL VALLEY) >> The Robert Morris junior finished ninth in the pole vault at the Northeast Conference Indoor Track Championsh­ip Feb. 17-18 at the SPIRE Institute facility in Geneva, Ohio. She cleared 10 feet, 6 inches which was well off her season best mark of 1010 at the YSU Icebreaker on Dec. 2 in Youngstown, Ohio. Manzolillo finished second in the NEC Championsh­ip as a sophomore with a height of career best height of 11 feet, 5¾ inches.
