First Responder Festival: Northern Berks EMS is hosting a First Responder Festival from 11:00am-4:00pm on Saturday, May 27th at the Leesport Fire Company, 18 East Wall Street, Leesport, PA. This is a free community event and we encourage the public to come out to meet and greet with local first responders. Live music, games, and other activities for the kids, explore several different types of emergency vehicles. There will be various live demonstrat­ions throughout the day that will display how police, fire, and EMS work together every day. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and we will have a Chinese auction with some great prizes to be won. We encourage everyone to come out and support local first responders and enjoy some family-friendly fun.

Memorial Day Parade: starting at 8:30 a.m., the parade will be traveling Main Street to Fairview Cemetery for a tribute to veterans buried there; then to Hope Cemetery for a tribute and Memorial Day address. Taps and a Salute to the Dead will be given as will solemn prayers in remembranc­e to those fallen and serving. Americanis­m award winners will give recitation­s during each ceremony at the cemeteries; and local Scouts, Veteran’s groups, bands, fire firefighte­rs, and military will be represente­d.
