Stadium project wrapping up

District creating video presentation that highlights families and students

- By Dr. George F. Fiore, Ed.D. Superintendent of the Kutztown Area School District

On behalf of the Kutztown Area School District Board of Directors and Administration, we are honored to welcome parents, teachers, staff, and more than 1,300 students back to our schools. For parents/ guardians whose children are entering our schools for the first time, a special welcome and heartfelt thank you for the trust you have placed in our school district. For our returning families, welcome back and thank you for your continued support. I hope you have enjoyed a restful and relaxing summer spent with family and friends.

This summer, we have been busy getting ready for an exciting school year. We are wrapping up the Stadium Renovation which should occur in October. Our students can expect to have an exciting group of educators that are eagerly awaiting their return!

Teachers and staff have spent the summer eagerly preparing for your child’s return, and we look forward to sharing new learning experiences with each of you. We have several new teachers joining an experienced and talented group of educators that we are fortunate to have in our classrooms and schools. Our teachers and staff bring their passion and expertise to their classroom with the goal to challenge your child while encouraging creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. These lifelong skills will serve your child well in the future.

I would encourage each and every family to be engaged in your child’s education. There are many opportunities to be involved including joining our parent-teacher organizations, booster group membership, and volunteering in our schools. If your schedule does not allow for that level of involvement, we would encourage you to visit our sporting events, musical performances, plays, drama performances, art shows, and much, much more. If you have other ideas about how you can partner with us, please contact your child’s building principal. We are committed to a strong partnership between home and school.

We are actively preparing to welcome our teachers and staff back to school and we need your help! We are creating a video/presentation that highlights our families and students’ hopes and dreams for the upcoming school year. We are asking if you could send in your thoughts, pictures, and/or videos of your child answering the following questions:

What do you hope to learn this year?

What are you looking forward to most this year?

What do you hope your teacher is like this year?

What do you like most about the Kutztown Area School District?

Please complete the following form to assist us in welcoming back our staff and teachers. If you do not have a google account to complete the form, please email Feedback@kasd.org with your thoughts, pictures, and/or video files (s).

Our first day of school is Monday, August 28th for all students. You can find our one-page district calendar here for your reference. Please visit your building web page for important dates and events throughout the year.
