KEVIN REICHART (SCHUYLKILL VALLEY) >> The 6-foot, 280-pound junior is one of the top throwers on the Southeast Louisiana men’s track team. He competed in the discus throw in his first two meets of the spring, but has also tossed the shot put for the Lions in his career. He finished second to a teammate in the discus at the Southeastern vs. Southern dual meet on March 22 in Hammond, La., with a personal best toss of 138 feet, 10 inches. That was an improvement by over five feet from his first meet of the spring when he finished 10th at the Louisiana Classic on March 15-16 in Lafayette, La. Reichart’s best shot put effort was 45 feet, 10 inches which he recorded indoors last January. A hand injury has limited his throwing this spring.

“Kevin is the kind of guy every coach wants to have on his team,” Corey Mistretta said. “Here at Southeastern our mission statement is ‘committed to excellence in the classroom, the community and in competition’ and Kevin is a rock star in the classroom (4.0 GPA) and in the community, always going above and beyond to help those in need. Despite his injury, he continues to strive for excellence in the way he rehabs and trains to get better. Our family is better because of Kevin Reichart.”
