Spring service day planned at Blue Marsh Lake
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Blue Marsh Lake is hosting a Spring Service Day at Blue Marsh Lake in partnership with the Penn State Alumni Association Berks County Chapter.
Friends, families, and community organizations are invited to join other volunteers on April 27 to participate in projects to celebrate Earth Day and prepare for the summer season at the park, park officials said in a press release.
Projects for the day will focus on litter pick up, wildlife habitat enhancement through invasive species identification and removal, and park beautification landscaping.
The Penn State Alumni Berks Chapter will be hosting a cookout for volunteers with donations from various local businesses.
Volunteer supplies such as gloves, trash bags, and small hand tools will be provided. Pre-registration is required for this event and due by April 20th.

The event will take place rain or shine, starting at 9:30 a.m. Participants will sign in at the Lakeview Pavilion at the Dry Brooks Day Use Area, parking lot D, 1420 Palisades Drive, Leesport.
